Notre Dame game

As long as I've known my husband Bill, he has been crazy about Notre Dame football. He has been a fan his whole life, so for his birthday in 2008, I got him tickets to his first ND football game. He was so excited about it. He has gone every year with his cousin Tony, but this year, the wives got to go. So on the Friday before the game, we ordered pizza and watched Ruby, which is their tradition. Then the next day, we left bright and early at 5 AM! We drove to Kokomo before we stoppped to eat breakfast at IHop. Then traveled the rest of the way to South Bend. We parked and headed to the stadium and gift shops. I love tailgating, but I had never seen tailgating like they do up there. We went into the Joyce Center to look around and use the restroom and found Tony Rice and Allen Pickett were signing autographs. So we got in line and the guys got their picture with them.
We then continued to walk around and take in the atmosphere. It was fun. We then headed to the stadium for the game.

Unfortunately, Notre Dame lost in the final minutes of the game to Tulsa. It was a good game, but the guys have been to three games and have seen ND lose all three! Hopefully, the next time they will win! After the game, we walked around the stadium, looked around the campus, and bought some gifts.

After leaving South Bend, we stopped to eat and then traveled to Kokomo to stay the night. We got up the next day, ate breakfast, then made our way home. It was a long couple of days, but we all had a great time and I'm glad the guys got to enjoy one of their favorite past times!
Love and Blessings,
Whitney
